Portland Conservation Group

Background

The Portland Conservation Group is part of the Island Volunteers for You (IVY) organisation. It is run by the Portland Coast and Countryside Ranger, Lyn Cooch, and operates from the IVY office in Easton, Portland.

 

The Conservation group organises a variety of activities for people of all ages. Look at the activities page for information on events. The Group also organise the dolphin watch from Portland Bill. Look at the dolphin watch pages and perhaps you would like to volunteer to take a turn looking for these wonderful creatures.

 

A more recent venture is to monitor the Portland Grazing Goat Trial on East Weares. This is an attempt to control the spread of scrub using natural methods.
