Events - August 2010

	12th - Low tide walk at Pirates Cove Come on a guided walk around the shoreline of Pirates Cove looking at the underwater life exposed at low tide. Meet at the end of Camp Road at 2:30pm
	21st - Fossils at Herbury A guided walk around the shoreline of Herbury looking at the underwater life exposed at low tide. Meet at the field gate just before the Moonfleet Hotel at 10am.
	28th - Low tide walk at Ferrybridge Join one of our guides for a walk around the Fleet shoreline looking at the underwater life exposed at low tide. Meet at the Chesil Visitors Centre at 3pm

The Centre is located at NGR SY668755 on the car park south of Ferrybridge. For GPS users, the postcode is DT9 9XE.

Please note that all events are subject to change. Please contact the Visitors Centre beforehand to ensure the event is still as planned. On the day, the event may be cancelled due to inclement weather or insufficient attendance.

Standard charges for walks are children £2, adults £3.

In August the die-off of the seaweed is complete and underwater visibility is at its best. Still plenty to see though with many fish and crustacea present. The water temperature usually peaks in the third or fourth week of August.

On land the last of the summer flowers are blooming and by the end of the month the first signs of Autumn will be appearing.
