In November the water temperature in the Fleet is dropping steadily and many of the fish and crustacea move out into the deeper waters of Portland Harbour and Weymouth Bay. Underwater visibility is often severely limited because of winter storms.

The birds that over-winter on the Fleet and Chesil Beach will now be in residence with many brent geese to be seen all along the Fleet.
