Who’s hiding on the harbour shore? A search along the shoreline near Portland Castle on Wednesday 15th August. Lyn Cooch, the Portland Ranger, led the search for strange and fascinating underwater creatures that inhabit Portland shores. The brown tube is an underwater viewing tube. |

Jurassic Seas Richard Edmonds from the Dorset Jurassic Coast Team led a walk through Portland’s old quarries to discover more about Portland’s location within the Jurassic coast and the amazing story locked in the rocks. |

Botanical treasures Brian Edwards, an enthusiastic biologist and lichenologist, led a walk through East Weares, north of Church Ope Cove on Portland to discover the botanical treasures of the area, including the many species of lichens for which this area is renowned. |

Songs along the shore The local choir Island Voices performed first in the Chiswell Walled garden and then along the Chiswell sea wall in difficult weather conditions, but still earned an excellent review in the local paper. |
