Ferrybridge is the point at which The Fleet joins Portland Harbour. The bridge was originally located several hundred yards further north of its current location but the channel was realigned when the current bridge was built during the 1970’s.

Looking north-west along the Fleet shoreline of Chesil Beach. Note the multiple tidelines delineated by the dead Zostera. The concrete structure in the foreground is the base for a winch used to test anchors  on the sand flats some years ago.

The creek at the southern tip of The Fleet, looking north-west up The Fleet. There is a small lagoon between the car park and Chesil Beach which fills with water at high tide. The creek links The Fleet with this lagoon. It is located alongside the Visitors Centre.
