On the 12th July there will be a walk from the Centre looking at our maritime heritage. There is a leaflet detailing these events available from the Visitors Centre or it can be downloaded by clicking here (600kb). The Fleet Observer will be running during this week and don't forget the Portland minibus guided tours of Portland.

The Fleet supports a wide variety of Marine life. Join us on the 5th July for a gentle stroll along the shoreline of the lower Fleet to see what can be found. In the past these walks have revealed a number of unusual creatures. These may include nationally rare species that inhabit the Fleet. On the 6th there will be a walk along the north shore of Portland Harbour. There are a number of small shingle and/or sandy beaches with rocky outcrops so this should be rather different from our usual low tide walks in the Fleet.
