Meet at the Chesil Beach Centre for a stroll along the shoreline at Ferrybridge looking for marine creatures. Wear wellies or water shoes. Adults £2.50, accompanied children free

6th July - Low tide scramble
Meet at Wellworthy Social Club at 2pm for a walk/scramble along the north shore of Portland Harbour. Wear wellies or water shoes, bare feet NOT recommended! Adults £2.50, accompanied children free |

9th July - Undersea world of Portland Harbour
Live broadcast from below the waters of Portland Harbour looking at the marine life on the Phoenix Caissons in Portland Port. Broadcasts will take place at 11am, 12 am, 2pm, and 3pm. Come to the Visitors Centre to watch and hear events. Admission free.

12th July - Maritime heritage walk
Meet at the Chesil Beach Centre at 2pm for a walk guided by a marine archaeologist looking at the maritime heritage of the area. Adults £2.50, accompanied children free |

26th July - Fossil walk
Meet at the end of Camp Road, Wyke Regis at 1pm for a walk around Pirate's Cove looking for fossils. Wear wellies. Adults £3, Children £2.

5-13th July - Spirit of the Sea
Weymouth will be holding its 'Spirit of the Sea' festival during this week. The Centre has five events, low tide walks on the 5th and 6th July, an exhibition 'Holy stones and billy winters' at the Centre and on the 9th a live broadcast with commentary from the waters below the Phoenix Caissons in Portland Harbour. On the 12th July there will be a walk from the Centre looking at our maritime heritage. There is a leaflet detailing these events available from the Visitors Centre or it can be downloaded by clicking here (600kb). The Fleet Observer will be running during this week and don't forget the Portland minibus guided tours of Portland. |
