1st May - Spring Birds Week walks
As part of spring birds week two walks will be held today.

10am: Birds of the West Fleet and Abbotsbury.
A 1.5 mile walk around the Swannery to see terns, swans and reedbed birds. Meet outside the Swannery shop at SY576847.

2pm: Spring birds of Ferrybridge.
There will be a walk starting at the Chesil Beach Visitors Centre to see terns, waders and migrants. Meet in the car parl outside the Centre.

3rd May - National Low Tide Day
Low Tide Day is a national event exploring and celebrating inter-tidal areas. Click here for details of the national event. More details of events at the Chesil Beach Centre nearer the day.
Flower walk

10th May - Spring flowers walk
Enjoy a slow amble over a carpet of spring flowers. Meet at the Chesil Beach Centre at 2.30pm. Adults £2.50, children £1.50.

Fossil walk

24th May - Fossil walk
Meet at the field gate near the Moonfleet Hotel at 2pm for a walk around Herbury looking for fossils. Wellies strongly advised, this area has soft clay. Adults £3, children £2.

Fleet Observer Fleet Observer
The Fleet Observer glass-bottomed boat should resume its trips up the Fleet this month following an extended refit.

Information on all events is available from the Chesil Beach Visitors Centre, open 10am-4pm. 01305 760579

The Centre is located at NGR SY668755 on the car park south of Ferrybridge.

Please note that all events are subject to change. Please contact the Visitors Centre beforehand to ensure the event is still as planned. On the day, the event may be cancelled due to inclement weather or insufficient attendance.

May is the best time to look at the spring flowers on Chesil Beach. The Portland pinks (thrift) will be in full flower on the grassy areas around the Chesil Beach Centre accompanied by many other flowers. Come and join us on the 10th to see the wide variety of flowers.
